With how serious Sousei usually is in the Historian meetings, it's probably a little surprising to see him just...standing on top of a table.

Reaching for something just slightly out of reach.

[She looks at him stretching for... a fan? It does have that same symbol that they used to identify him as a Historian.]

Is that really important to you?

[Sousei pauses.

And... looks as if he's struggling with a response to that--before he finally just sighs, and nods, still reaching for it.]

... It belongs to someone... I suppose could be considered important to me. [tsun] I would rather not leave it out in the open for whatever nonsense to happen to it.

You can say it belongs to you, it's fine.

I don't think anybody's out here defacing the castle and it's stuff. ... Besides a couple of fairy tale books, but anyway your fan is probably going to be okay.

If you just want to keep it you can say that instead.

I was telling the truth. It belongs to my... [HRGH... it's hard for him to say these words, he's too tsun for it, but he manages, eventually:] ... best friend.

So with that in mind, yes, I would like to keep it.

[He is so close to grabbing it.]

[Ah yes, prodding incessantly to figure out what exactly his relation is to this thing he's grabbing.]

Do you need... help with that? I can't carry you, but I could probably find an extra chair or something.

It is fine. I am nearly--

[He grabs it! Successfully! Hell yeah.

Unfortunately, that also means that she's going to have to deal with some backstory!. It's definitely a much, much younger Sousei, and the memory is very brief--but she's going to get to experience it nonetheless.]

[It was a very short memory, but he sounded like a cute kid.

Unfortunately because if it's briefness Rebecca's memory starts up, with her looking down at some shattered glass before she retreats into her head.

If he looks at Rebecca at all, she looks like she's been caught doing something awful.
