To ensure the necessary ink is spilled, the Crafters will choose two Narrators a week to serve as Blotters. Blotters are forced under duress to kill another Narrator. Only one Blotter needs to deal the killing blow, but both must participate equally in the planning and execution of the murder. A Historian may be chosen as a Blotter.

. . . I accepted I wouldn't be meeting my objective from the moment I received it, so that's a non-issue. The real issue is my gift, which I can hardly envision myself using now.
